AFI Top 100: No. 76 Forrest Gump

Is there a more quotable movie than Forrest Gump? Excluding a few dumb comedies, I think it would be hard to find one. Forrest Gump was one of the movie’s on this list that I had seen time and time again, and never tired of it. The incredible life of the naive and simple man from Greenbow, Ala., was so beautifully told that it became an instant classic.

Forrest Gump has everything one could ask for in a movie: drama, history, humor… It’s one of those movies that makes you, makes you cry and, most importantly, makes you think. I think there are very few people who have not seen this movie, and if you are one of them, make sure you rent it instantly.
